The Kentucky Horsewear Eczema Rug with Hood provides comprehensive protection for horses suffering from sweet itch, eczema, or sensitive skin. Crafted from a strong, supple 900 denier fabric, it effectively shields against flies and biting insects while preventing harmful rubbing. Its quick-drying and sweat-absorbing properties prevent moisture buildup, reducing irritation and bacterial growth.
Designed for full coverage, this lightweight rug features an extended neckpiece extending over the ears secured by five hook-and-loop fasteners, a protective belly flap with three straight surcingles, and an elongated tail flap with an integrated elastic. The light grey colour reflects sun rays to keep your horse cool and comfortable during warm spring and summer days.

To fully protect the horse, this rug has a neckpiece that goes up to the ears.When horses with Eczema or Sweet Itch sweat a lot, it can worsen their condition. The horse can experience increased itching and bacterial and fungal growth which will lead to secondary infections and slow down the healing process. The Eczema Rug features quick-dry material to prevent sweating under the rug.
Materials & care
The fabric is strong, breathable, and very supple to provide the horse with the best comfort. The light color of the rug reflects sunrays and does not absorb heat. 900 denier.Sizing & fit
This rug has an extra long neck which is attached over the ears, ensuring the neck of the horse is fully protected. The neck piece can be closed with 5 hook and loop closures.To protect the belly area the rug features a belly flap. This flap is closed by 3 straight surcingles. The tail flap is longer than standard and features an elastic for the tail. The Eczema Rug with hood is available in sizes 125 to 165 cm.

How to use
Place the rug over the horse's back, pull the attached neckpiece over the ears, and secure the five hook-and-loop closures along the neck. Fasten the belly flap using the three straight surcingles and secure the tail flap elastic under the tail for full coverage.
