Saddle Fitting Shims (Pair)
Made for the ThinLine® pads, this pair of full-length Trim-to-Fit Shims will meet all your saddle shimming needs. Trim them to create a custom pair of front, middle (bridging), and rear saddle fitting shims. These shims can also be left as a full shim to boost your overall ThinLine comfort and protection without adding lift in any one area.
ThinLine Shims aid in correcting minor saddle-fitting issues. They can be used to fit the saddle on an asymmetrical horse or to help a saddle that needs lift in the front or back, or that may be slightly too wide.
The most cost-effective and versatile way to shim your pad, ThinLine shims never lose their performance and shock absorption properties. The shims you buy today will last you a lifetime!

4 styles of Saddle Fitting Shims can be made from our Trim-to-Fit shims.
- It only takes a pair of scissors to easily trim to fit! Shims come with scoring marks as a guide for you to create pairs of front, bridging, or rear saddle fitting shims. The trim to fit full shim is the most economical way to always have what you need for every horse.
- If you only need to shim in one area, cut them, then place them where needed in the open pocket of a ThinLine pad. The remaining material can be used to add additional height by stacking several trimmed pieces on top of each other. As your horse grows and changes you now have several sets of shims for fine-tuning saddle fit.
- Or, use full length to boost your overall lift, protection, and comfort. The most cost-effective and versatile way to shim your pad!
Choosing the correct shim for your Pad:
If you have one of the following pads, you’ll choose either the 30×30 shim or the 32×32 shim, depending on your pad’s length.
- Contour Western Ranch Pads
- Western Woven Wool Sheepskin Square
- Western Cotton Square Liner
- Western Felt Square Liner
- Wax Tough Rider Square Pad
If you have a ProTech Felt square pad, you’ll choose the ProTech Felt Square option for your shim.
If you find you no longer need inserts, just remove them and keep all the great benefits of your ThinLine Pad!

ThinLine shims may arrive in black, brown, or white. Since Western saddle shims for horses cannot be seen inside your pad, color is not an issue.
